Location
The natural beauty and diversity of the Gower landscape is undisputed. Its beaches are among some of the best in Britain, if not the world. It was the first area in Britain to be awarded the honour of being designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1956. South Gower, with its rocky coastline has numerous sandy beaches and hidden coves all within a 15min drive, whilst North Gower’s more rugged moorland landscape gives way to long stretches of sandy beaches at Llangennith and Whitford Sands.
Activities
If it’s a quiet getaway you’re after then Blas Gŵyr is the perfect hideaway from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Gower is ideal for those wanting to enjoy a slower pace of life where visitors can quickly lose themselves in the sheer beauty of the area by just wandering along miles of empty beaches, discovering hidden coves, taking spectacular cliff walks or just relaxing in the areas numerous local pubs. The area is extremely popular with ramblers and walkers and it’s not hard to see why.
However, if it’s a high octane weekend you want then Llangennith and Gower can provide all you require to quicken the pulse and set the heart racing.
Whether its surfing, kiteboarding, kayaking or paragliding the area has more than enough on offer to provide the adventurous with an adrenalin rush.
Kerry and Dafydd will be on happy to help organise any activities you may wish to undertake, which in most cases will need to be pre-booked. Look out too for our Activity Weekend Packages where pre-arranged activities come as part of an all in package.
If you didn’t already know it, surfing is big in Llangennith, with those big Atlantic waves more than enough for even the most expert surfer. If you’re a beginner fear not, the local beach is also ideal for the first time surfer, of whatever age, and if you just want to give it a go without taking organised tuition, we have a selection of beginners and intermediate surfboards which you can hire directly from us at special guest prices.
For those looking for something different we can also organise ‘Bushcraft’ session, where guests can get right back to nature, spending a day searching for Gower ‘bushtucker’ or a night under the stars on Worms Head.
